Sekere Clutch Bag
Named the Sekere Clutch Bag, this unique piece is all about rich, tactile texture and earthy elegance.
A deep, dense pile of hand-applied bugle beads creates a shag-like shimmer, contrasted with a smooth, dark wood frame wrapped in silk. It's the perfect blend of natural warmth and high-shine statement design for any evening. Made in Nigeria.
FABRIC CARE: Spot clean only, with a dry cloth. Store flat in a dust bag to protect the beadwork. Be mindful of the beads to avoid snagging.

BEFORE YOU ORDER
What does the Sekere Clutch Bag feel like?
The bead body has real dimension — multiple layers of hand-applied bugle beads create a dense, textured, shag-like surface that's genuinely tactile, not flat. Contrasted with the smooth wood frame, it's designed to be as interesting to touch as it is to look at.
What fits inside the Sekere Clutch Bag?
It's sized for evening essentials — your phone, keys, cards, and similar. The arched, silk-wrapped wood frame opens wide, so finding what you need inside is easy despite the compact size.
Will the beads on the Sekere Clutch Bag fall off?
Each bead is hand-applied to the body of the clutch. To keep them secure, avoid snagging on rough surfaces or sharp jewellery, and spot clean only with a dry cloth rather than any liquid cleaner.
How do I care for the Sekere Clutch Bag?
Spot clean only, using a dry cloth — never a wet cloth or liquid cleaner on the beadwork. Store it flat in a dust bag between uses to protect the beads and keep their shape.

KÍLÉNTÁR CARE GUIDE
Every Kíléntár piece is handcrafted - woven, dyed, beaded, or stitched by artisans across West Africa - and each material carries its own way of being kept. Cared for properly, these are pieces made to last and to be passed on. Below you'll find care guidance by material. Most of our garments combine two or more: where they do, always follow the gentlest instruction. The care line on each product page states the final word for that piece, and if you're ever unsure, write to us at hello@kilentar.com - we're happy to advise.
- Handwoven cotton & silk thread (Faso Dan Fani)
Dry clean recommended. Do not tumble dry. Iron on reverse at low heat only, or steam. Store hanging to preserve the weave's structure.
- Raffia (dyed fringe)
Steam only - never iron raffia directly; direct heat damages the dyed fibres. Hang to store and never fold the fringe layers. If fringe arrives compressed from shipping, hang for a few hours and steam gently.
- Beadwork (glass, resin & metallic beads)
Dry clean only - do not hand wash. Store flat or hanging without compressing the beaded surface. Dress with care and keep away from sharp jewellery, zips, and bags that can snag threads.
- Shells & cowries
Dry clean only. Store hanging on a padded hanger - shell-embellished pieces carry real weight. Avoid crushing under other garments; handle gently when dressing.
- Vintage & deadstock lace
Hand wash cold or dry clean - beaded lace is dry clean only and should never touch water. Do not tumble dry. Steam rather than ironing lace directly. Store hanging or flat.
- Chiffon
Dry clean. Steam on low to release creases. Store hanging.
- Tulle, net & mesh
Dry clean recommended. Steam gently or iron on low heat. Hang to store.
- Satin
Dry clean. Steam on low; avoid direct high heat, which marks the surface.
- Silk & hand-dyed àdìrẹ
Dry clean only. Steam on low heat. Hand-dyed pieces should never be soaked - dye placements are unique to each garment. Store flat or on padded hangers.
- Wool & stove-wool fringe
Dry clean only. Steam gently. Store folded or hanging with room - never compress fringe.
- Tassels (cotton & shimmer)
Steam gently if tangled; never iron. Hang so tassels fall freely — do not fold. Finger-comb strands rather than brushing.
- Sequins
Dry clean recommended. No iron contact at any heat. Store hanging with space around the garment.
- Crepe
Dry clean. Steam on low heat.
- Denim (rigid, with aso oke detail)
Dry clean only to protect vintage aso oke pockets. Steam lightly.
- Tweed
Dry clean only. Steam on low heat; avoid pressure over boning channels where present.
- Plissé (pleated)
Dry clean only - pleats are heat-set and washing relaxes them. Steam very gently; never press pleats or ruffles flat.
- Gold hardware, Igba & Adinkra buttons
Keep direct heat away from buttons and plaques. No harsh cleaning products; wipe gently with a soft dry cloth.
- Corsetry & boning
Steam gently; avoid pressing directly over boning. Store hanging or flat - never fold across the boned section.
