Before I made a single piece, I spent a year in West Africa. I sat beside the looms. I asked questions — probably too many. I built relationships with artisans that I still have today, and that I hope I always will. The reason I started this brand was simple: I believed African craft deserved to be at the centre of fashion, not quietly in the background of it.
That belief has not changed. But honestly? It is not what gets me out of bed on a hard day.
What gets me out of bed is Lydia, on a Thursday afternoon, sending a WhatsApp just to say thank you. It is Makenna writing to say she cannot wait to wear her piece to graduation — and me imagining exactly how she will look when she walks across that stage.
